My fellow fair skinned beauties, our prayers have been answered! Benefit has released a lighter, more wearable, version of their iconic Hoola – and it’s really good! If you’re looking for an easy way to bronze your face, then Hoola Lite will be your new BFF!
Each powder retails for $29 (0.28 oz), and can be purchased at Sephora, ULTA, and Macy’s. They come packaged in Benefit’s signature square box, which feature attached lids, a convenient mirror, and a natural bristle cheek brush (for easy bronzing on the go).
BENEFIT HOOLTA (ORIGINAL)
The original Hoola has been a staple in my makeup collection for over 10 years. It’s dark, intense, and never streaky. But, it’s really a product I reserve for the summer, when I’m a little more tan. I can get away with it year-round, but there’s a learning curve with it. You can look muddy easily, so use a light hand, tap off the excess, and blend blend blend!
In terms of the formula, it’s easy to blend, highly pigmented, and not overly dry. When swatched, the powder is creamy, and there’s no issue with chalkiness or kick up during application. This award-winning product, features subtle red undertones, which gives you a more believable natural looking tan. So, there’s no worry about looking orange!
BENEFIT HOOLA LITE
As you can see, Hoola Lite is quite a few shades lighter than its beloved counterpart. It has the same great formula as the original, though you’ll need to layer it a bit more in order to achieve a chiseled look. There’s also no worry about orange undertones, so you can really go to town and apply it all over.
If you’ve ever tried Too Faced Milk Chocolate bronzer, this shade reminds me a lot of that. It’s easy to wear, hard to over-do, and requires very little experience. So, bronzer novices, this one’s for you!
ORIGINAL V. LITE
So, which one do I prefer? While I adore both shades, the easy to wear Lite has definitely stolen my heart. For those of you lighter than me, and a few shades darker, Lite is great option for everyday use. If you’re rocking a tan, or are a natural dark beauty, then I suggest the original. Both are matte, and can offer a stunning bronzy look.
Are you excited about the new Hoola Lite? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
