School may have ended for me years ago, but I still remember how hard it was to get up on that first day back. After months of sleeping in and enjoying lazy summer days, you’re suddenly thrust back into a world of early wake up calls, class schedules, and endless hours of homework. But, while you’re busy pressing the snooze button (and savoring every last minute of sleep), you can rest assured that you’ll still make it out of the house on time with this 10-minute school ready look!
FACE & BROWS
The first step in this school ready look, is to perfect your skin. For this, I reached for the essence cosmetics Pure Nude Make-Up. It’s less than $5, and it covers imperfections beautifully without looking heavy or cakey. You can apply it with your fingers, or with a synthetic foundation brush.
To cover my sleepy under eye bags, I reached for a full coverage creamy concealer, blending it out with just my fingers. Then, I quickly filled in my brows with a rich brown powder.
LIDS & LASHES
This look is all about simplicity, and getting out of the house as soon as possible, so I made sure to reach for products that are pigmented and easy to use. For starters, I applied a creamy eyeshadow base in champagne, then topped it with Light Up and Natural Beauty from the essence cosmetics How to Make Bright Eyes kit. This set is only $9.99, and features six eyeshadows, and a small application brush – plus how cute is the packaging?!
To add some depth to the look, I applied two soft brown shades from the essence cosmetics All About Nudes palette. Retailing for just $5.49, this neutral palette contains eight shadows in a variety of finishes. They are easy to blend, and full of pigment, making them a great choice for busy mornings.
Last, but not least, I applied two coats of the essence cosmetics Lash Princess mascara ($4.99). The lengthening formula of this mascara is easy to work with, and stays on all day without clumping or flaking!
CHEEKS
My favorite part of this look, is the cheeks! The essence cosmetics Contour Powder is just $3.99, but its bronzy luminous finish rivals my higher end products. To add a touch of glow to your skin, simply sweep the bronzing shade on your cheeks, temples, and jawline, and finish off with the highlight on the high points of your face (cheekbones, nose, and brow bone).
For an extra pop of color, I added a touch of essence cosmetics Silky Touch Blush in Babydoll ($2.99) to the apples of my cheeks. This shade is perfect for everyday looks. It blends easily, and the texture is creamy and smooth.
LIPS
The start of a new school year, means a fresh new beginning, so why not start it off with a bold lip color! The essence cosmetics Sheer & Shine Lipstick in Sparkling Miracle is the perfect choice, and the perfect price at just $2.99. It goes on smooth, and it feels creamy and hydrating on the lips. For an extra touch of pink, I paired it with the essence cosmetics lipliner in Wish Me a Rose.
