Hello there, beauties! First off, my apologies on my half ass blogging this month. Between a hurricane scare, planning a move, and life in general, things sort of got away from me. But, I’m back to share my thoughts on the new PÜR Love Your Selfie 2 Palette. This baby has got everything you need for fall inspired makeup looks. But, is it a must have? You gotta reading to find out!
Retailing for $42 at ULTA and purcosmetics.com, this day to night palette comes packed with eight eyeshadows, three cheek colors, a deluxe size mascara, lip pencil, and lip gloss. It promises to be the perfect travel companion, and features exclusive never before seen shades.
EYESHADOWS – TOP ROW
Headshot is a creamy matte beige that’s perfect for blending away harsh edges. It’s super creamy, and highly pigmented.
Statuesque is a light matte brown. It works perfect above the crease, as a transition shade, but it needs to be packed on since the pigmentation is light.
Panorama is a stunning warm bronzy brown with a satin finish. The texture is smooth, and the pigmentation is spot on.
Abstract has the same amazing texture and color payoff as Panorama, though it’s slighter cooler toned.
EYESHADOWS – BOTTOM ROW
Pose is a soft matte baby pink that has excellent pigmentation, and a creamy texture.
Sketch is one of my favorite shades in the palette! It’s a gorgeous berry wine with a satin finish. It’s creamy, and nicely pigmented.
Megapixel is a warm brownish gold with a satin finish. Although it’s smooth, it’s not as bold as some of the other shades, so it needs to be packed on a bit.
Paparazzi is supppper pigmented It’s also quite unique, as it’s not quite black, not quite green, and it has beautiful gold shimmers.
CHEEK COLORS
Overexposed is described as a neutral translucent baking powder. I’ve actually never seen a baking powder in a palette before, so I find this pretty interesting.
Photogenic is a soft rose gold blush with a luminous finish. On my skin tone, it can be worn as a blush, though on darker beauties, this would be more of a highlighter.
Composition is a warm bronzer, but is also marketed for the brows. For me, this is way too warm and light for my brows, but blondes or light brunettes might get away with it.
The texture of all three cheek colors is super creamy, smooth, and easy to blend. The pigmentation is also excellent and consistent for all three.
LIPS & LASHES
Velvet Matte Lip Pencil (Focal Point) is a rosey nude with a smooth texture and high color payoff. You can wear it on its own, for a soft matte finish, or paired under the included lip gloss. It glides easily across lips, without tugging, and doesn’t feel overly drying.
Lip Gloss (Silhouette) is pretty much the exact same color as the lip pencil, and features a creamy texture. It’s not sticky, or tacky, and wears nicely on my dry lips.
Fully Charged Mascara is one of my favs! You can see my full review here, but in short, it gives me awesome length and doesn’t flake.
Overall, I really like this palette. It’s got a ton of product, for a very reasonable price, and the majority of the shades are very creamy and easy to work with. There are slight inconsistencies with the texture of some eyeshadows, but for the most part everything has excellent color payoff.
Is this a, “run out immediately and buy it,” type of product? No. But, it’s nice for those of you looking for a stand alone all-in-one palette. It’s got everything you need, from shadows, to cheeks, to mascara, and even lip gloss – all for less than $50. I’d say that’s quite a deal!
