Happy Monday, beauties! Welcome to Lipstick Week here on Collective Beauty! I’ve got a ton of lippies I’ve been wanting to chat about, so on the calender this week are three separate posts dedicated to lipstick! To kick things off, I’ll be talking about two of the prettiest lip products I own – the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Star Clash Edition Lipsticks.
Retailing for $37 (0.13 oz) at Sephora, Bloomingdales, and Nordstorm, these holiday inspired lippies come packaged in gorgeous gold bullets that sparkle like diamonds. They are embossed with stars, and are available in six shades. The two I’ll be talking about are Le Nu and Rose Stiletto.
If you’ve never tried a YSL lipstick, than you’re missing out. The cost is high, but the formula is one of my all time favs. They are smooth, creamy, never tacky, and they feature a light non-offensive scent. On the lips, they feel more like a hydrating gloss, than a lipstick. If you have dry lips, these are a must try!
If you’re someone who hates glitter falling off product, then no worries with this. Although the packaging glimmers like no other, the sparkles aren’t rough or raised. The bullets feel smooth, just like they would if they were no sparkle at all!
70 LE NU & 09 ROSE STILETTO
My favorite of the two, is Le Nu (no surprise, as I love me some light pink nudes). This mid-tone pink is a classic “your lips but better” shade. It’s not too pale, or too dark, and pairs easily with almost any makeup look. In true YSL fashion, the formula is smooth and creamy, and the finish is satin with a hint of shine.
Rose Stiletto is a darker pink, though it’s still appropriate for day time or office wear. If you’re looking for a warm pink to vamp up your fall wardrobe, this is a great pick! The finish is the same as Le Nu, and of course it’s a joy to wear.
Since these are hydrating, with a glossy finish, they don’t wear incredibly long before fading (I have the same experience with the Rouge Volupté Shines). But, they glide across lips easily, without tugging, so reapplying is not an issue. Plus, any chance to whip out these stunning gold bullets is okay with me
ARM SWATCH
All of the limited edition Star Clash edition lipsticks are still available online, so I’d hurry and snag them while you can! What do you think of these new lipsticks? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
